This beautiful door handle is proof that 3D print
design just keeps getting better and better. The result of years of
experimentation by Alexander Pelikan from Dutch studio PeLiDesign, it’s one of
a series of stainless steel door handles titled ‘A Machine’s Perception’. In creating
his design, the designer explored the errors thrown up by a 3D scan; the handle
is his interpretation of the scanner’s perception. The handle is part of the contemporary art and design collection at the Museum
Boijmans van Beuningen in Rotterdam.
